There are 100 children singing and 40 playing instruments in Children’s Philharmonic (the children called themselves ”Fili” in short). The ”band” was founded by music teacher Haáz Sándor in 1982 who has been conducting the ”band” since. In their repertoire you can find: short classical pieces, unique folk song covers, historical songs and also songs from other cultures, in foreign languages. They often have concerts in other villages, towns, cities other than Szentegyháza. Every summer they go on a tour abroad (since 1990).
The seat of the Children’s Philharmonic Association is in Gábor Áron Cultural House. In the attic of the building there is a collection of traditional furniture, clothes which can also be visited.
